A few months ago I moved across the country to stay with my boyfriend and our dog, necessitating my departure from the very best friends I’ve ever had in my life.
The move has been very hard on me, and I’ve been struggling to find my footing in a new location, as well as trying to get by without my pals.
I miss them more and more every day. That’s why I was so excited when two of my very best buddies said they were going to drive down to visit at the end of October. Little did I know that the weather was going to take a turn for the worse. Here, I was so excited to show them the warm climate I had moved to, and instead the temperature took a sharp downturn as soon as they arrived. The first day of their trip was beautiful, and we were even able to keep all the windows open for natural indoor ventilation. The temperature was ideal, and the humidity was very low; we spent plenty of time outdoors enjoying the beautiful air conditions. By the second day of the trip, however, the climate had changed. Now it was cold and rainy outside, and we felt freezing cold all day long. We actually had to turn on the furnace for the first time this year when the indoor air temperature dipped too low to be comfortable. The remainder of their trip was equally chilly and humid, and we couldn’t enjoy the great outdoors anymore. I wish the temperature had cooperated better.
