Making up for lost HVAC

Making up for lost HVAC

As an adult, I admit that I abuse my central heating and cooling system pretty often.

I’m one of those people who constantly listens to podcasts. Recently, I’ve been engaged with a lot of motivational and mindset podcasts. For a few years now, I have been obsessed with self-improvement and trying to reframe my mind. I know that a lot of people will scoff at these intentions, but I find that they truly helps me to live a happier and calmer life. Another thing that I’ve realized from these podcasts, is how much my early childhood has impacted my adulthood. Many of the decisions that I continue to make to this day have been inspired by the circumstances experienced as a kid. For instance, I noticed that I have a terrible lacking mindset when it comes to operating the central heating and cooling system. Growing up, we didn’t have much money, which meant we couldn’t use much energy in the house. My mom was always keeping a tight shoestring budget and refused to pay more for the bills than absolutely necessary. She constantly turned down the heating and cooling system so that we were barely utilizing any expensive energy. The winters were ridiculously cold and the Summers were absurdly hot growing up. As an adult, I admit that I abuse my central heating and cooling system pretty often. If I’m uncomfortable inside, I want to adjust the HVAC system. According to all of these podcasts, I am re-enacting the childhood that I wish I had through my furnace and air conditioning system. I feel like it’s something that I deserve, after growing up in heating and cooling poverty.
