Losing power, and losing air conditioning

Losing power, and losing air conditioning

A few weeks ago I was having a very terrible day at my job.

All of my co-workers have been freaking out for a few months already and at this point they were beginning to take their frustrations out on one another.

I was feeling extremely exhausted with hearing every person arguing and telling tales about everyone else. A brutal, toxic energy was stirring inside of me thanks to everyone else’s negativity. I decided I should probably take a chill pill before I returned home after work. I didn’t want to bring my negativity into the family home. Therefore, I continued driving right past my house on my way home. It seemed preferable to go get some exercise and change my pissy mood before trying to engage with the family. It’s a good thing that I made this choice, because when I finally got back home I found that the power was out. Unfortunately, this meant that there were no lights and absolutely no heating, cooling, or ventilation appliances working in the house. Since it was the dead of Summer, the house was rapidly increasing in temperature. When I walked in, I nearly choked on the heat and humidity. I was positive that the air-conditioning should turn on soon, so I tried to busy myself without working up a sweat. As nighttime settled in, I stopped believing that the power was ever going to come back on or holding out hope for beautiful AC. I forfeited myself to a miserable night sweating in bed, after a miserable day sweating at the office.
